We all need to "Be So Happy"

We all need to “Be So Happy”

Lately I’ve been very inspired by some of the incredible watercolour and mixed media artists out there.  I especially love the style of Geninne ZlatkisEva Juliet and Alisa Burke.  I’ve never had any experience with watercolour before but it’s something that’s on my bucket list of things to learn… maybe this year will be the year (fingers crossed).

This week, in a fit of desperation to try watercolour, I grabbed Noelle’s art kit from her room and just started playing with the colours – turns out it’s not as easy as I envisioned. Oh well, watercolour classes it is. However, I did have a bit of fun mixing the colours and thought that a couple of the pieces made fun backgrounds for printable art.

I chose this “be so happy “quote for my daughter and put it in her room.  My absolute favourite thing that I love about Noelle is that she’s happy ALL the time – seriously!  She wakes up every day full of life, energy and happiness and always with a huge smile on her face that continues all day long. I have no idea how she does it but if only I could find a way to bottle it and sell it – I’d make a fortune.

Father’s Day Printable for Dad

| Kids Fun, Printables

Fill out and give to Dad on Father's Day

Fill out and give to Dad on Father’s Day

Father’s Day is only a few days away.  Unfortunately this year, Noelle was away on the day her class made their Father’s Day cards so I had to improvise and come up with something she could give her Dad.  I’ve seen some cute ideas on Pinterest and but as usual, I always like to make my own designs.  So far Noelle only has the drawing done but I’ll be really interested to see what great things she comes up with to fill in the blanks… could be worth a few laughs and that’s why I think these cards are so great.

Blank Faces Drawing Page – Free Printable

| Kids Fun, Printables

Kids will love drawing in the faces with their own designs.

Kids will love drawing in the faces with their own designs.

Blank Faces Drawing Page – My daughter loves to draw (I wonder where she gets that from). Most of the time she just draws from her imagination but sometimes she asks for pages to colour. She really enjoys drawing faces and experimenting with different styles of eyes, noses and smiles, so I created a page full of various blank faces for her to practice her facial features and expressions on.

Noelle can’t be the only little person out there who loves to draw, so I’m passing this colouring page on so that other kids can share their creative genius too. Have fun!

Blank Faces-download here.

Family Movie Night Tickets – FREE Printable

| Crafts & DIY, Kids Fun, Printables

Movie night free printable tickets.

Movie night free printable tickets.

Family Movie Night Tickets – Every month or two we have a family movie night at our home.  It’s always a big deal. Michael goes downstairs to the family room, sets up a big screen, projector, speakers and moves the couch around so that we can all snuggle together while we watch a movie.  Actually, truth be told, this tradition started a couple of summers ago when we’d go camping at the beach when it was a rainy night but we enjoy it almost as much when we do it at home too.

About a year ago Noelle suggested a family movie night while my parents were visiting from Ontario. Noelle wanted a big production with seating attendants, drinks and popcorn but she also put in a request for movie tickets.  Being that I’m the kind of person who can’t just rip up a plain piece of paper into fake tickets, and inspired by Noelle’s excitement for movie night, I decided to create realistic tickets to hand out before the screening. To this day, Noelle still has her ticket stuck up on her bulletin board.

I was thinking about how much joy she found in this event and thought it might be nice to share the tickets I created.  This little something extra helps make for a fun and inexpensive family evening.  Heck, it could also be used for birthday parties or even a cute date night idea. You can download the tickets HERE.
