Home Book Club Card

Home Book Club Card

Home Book Club Card – In my recent post Certificate of Awesomeness I confessed to my parenting “oops” when my daughter didn’t get a card of congratulations from her teacher for reading 100 books.  As you know, Noelle did indeed read 100 books and I created a certificate of awesomeness to help fix my blunder.  In the same vain, we really work hard to make sure Noelle is a confident reader and yesterday after school she spent about an hour reading. Both my husband and I were impressed by this desire to read without being prompted and Michael had a great idea to encourage this positive behaviour – like the “karma card” from another one of my posts, why not have a home book club where a reward is given after reading 10 books (this does not include her books that we read for school). Noelle loved the idea too so I spent the morning creating a Home Book Club card. I’ve created two versions, one called the “Home Book Club” for families to use, and then I made one called the “Kids Book Club” that can be used by teachers, counsellors, kids clubs, camps, libraries, etc.

Mexico family vacation 2014

Hello Dabbles and Babbles followers.  I wanted to take a moment to apologize for my absence from my blog over the past few weeks.  I had the very good fortune and opportunity to take a vacation in Mexico with my family.  We went to Puerto Vallarta and had an amazing time spent relaxing, exploring, and enjoying family time together.  Now I’m back home and feeling refreshed, invigorated and ready to get back to my creative adventures.

Thanksgiving Printable Place Setting for Kids – It’s hard to believe but it was over a month ago that we celebrated Thanksgiving in Canada.  We had the fortune to be invited to two fabulous dinners.  Along with my food contributions, I also brought along a fun Thanksgiving printable for the kid’s place settings.  Just print out these coloring pages and place where the kids will be sitting for dinner.  This will give the kids a fun activity and keep them entertained while the adults get all the wonderful food on the table. Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends!

Master Meal List

Master meal planning list printable

Master meal planning list printable

Master Meal List – I’m not much of a planner when it comes to meals, especially during the week.  Usually I just come home from work, look in the fridge, freezer and pantry and then just make whatever meal I feel like and can come up with quickly.  I have friends and coworkers who plan their meal every week in advance… kudos to them but I’m just not that organized.  Sometimes my decisions for meals are prompted by the newest cooking magazine that’s in my mailbox when I get home or often times I’m browsing through Pinterest and I see something that looks tantalizing. I cook meals at home at least six days a week so I need as many options as possible. For me, it’s often just a matter of coming up with the initial idea and then I’m good to go.

For months (well, maybe years) I’ve been thinking about having a master list of all my favourite recipes that I can quickly browse when I’m trying to figure out what to make for dinner. Finally I found a moment and made a page for keeping my recipe and meal ideas.  After I added all my meal ideas, I printed it out and taped it inside my cupboard door so that I can look at it anytime for quick inspiration.

Today I’m sharing my printable master meal list with you.  Click here to download.  If you’ve got any great recipe ideas feel free to share too!
