If you’ve recently found yourself scouring through blankets and crochet patterns on the internet, stop. The search is over. This Heart Graphgan crochet baby blanket is a dream.

This pattern is fun and exciting. You’ll get to learn the graphing technique which is different from a lot of baby blankets. It involves keeping count and using multiple balls of yarn. While this baby blanket is unique, baby blanket patterns can also have similarities. Their shape and baby blanket size; even the color palette in some cases.

There are lots of easy crochet baby blankets to be made. But this one is special. And don’t you want to make a personalized baby blanket if you’re going to put the effort in?

This baby blanket crochet project has a big heart in the middle crocheted out of soft yarn. The baby blanket crochet pattern calls for Berroco Comfort Chunky yarn is two colors. One for the large heart at the center and the other for the base blanket.

The yarn is an acrylic nylon blend that’s soft and plushy. It’s even machine washable (always a good thing when kids are involved).

The baby blanket dimensions are easily adjustable too. You could easily add stitches to each side of the blanket to make it bigger. I wouldn’t alter the size of the heart though, unless you have experience with it.

These free crochet patterns for baby hats are amazing and quick to work up. These baby boy hats or girl hats can be made for 0-3 months or 3-6 months. #CrochetHat #CrochetBabyHat #BabyHatCrochetPattern

Easy Striped Crochet Baby Hat Pattern

If you missed my latest blog post, I recently worked on my first knit baby blanket. You can see it here. I was so blown away by the response to it, that I decided to work up a crochet hat to go along with it.

Knowing how to crochet a hat is so simple, and crochet baby hats are always fun to work on. I know you’ll love this crochet baby hat as much as I do.

This cute pattern is made using a simple design with two stripes at the bottom and a textured border. I like to use light shades such as mint and grey for mine, but you can choose any colors.

These crocheted hats use a series of basic crochet stitches. They all add texture and style to this otherwise simple baby hat crochet pattern.

This is a great crochet newborn hat. I made the knit blanket for my daughter’s gymnastics coach who is expecting. This hat baby beanie would be the perfect addition to my gift.

If you’re just learning how to crochet a baby hat, making some for a local charity is great practice. I like to donate baby caps to local hospitals and women’s shelters to help out.
This newborn hat is made out of Berroco Vintage DK weight yarn. It’s smooth and silky, perfect for a baby’s soft skin. It’s an acrylic wool blend and has a polished finish.

These baby boy hats or girl hats can be made for 0-3 months or 3-6 months. It’s really easy to adjust the size. They’re the perfect baby winter hat to keep little ones cozy this season.

Tunisian Crochet Stitches

| Crochet

Tunisian crochet bridges the gap between crochet and knitting. You should test it out with this list of tunisian crochet stitches we've put together. #TunisianCrochet #TunisianCrochetStitches #CrochetForBeginners

I often see the argument of crochet vs. knit. People have very strong opinions on which craft they’re loyal to. But what if you didn’t have to choose? Tunisian crochet is a great skill for knitters and crocheters alike.

It’s often seen as a crossover between crochet and knitting, making it easy to learn for both parties. If you’re a knitter who wants to learn crochet for beginners, the tunisian technique is perfect for you. And vice versa if you want to learn to knit.

The crochet needles used in tunisian crochet are very similar to knitting needles. Tunisian crochet actually requires a specific tunisian crochet hook that is longer than a regular hook. It looks like a knitting needle with a hook at the end instead of a point.

If you’re looking to practice Tunisian crochet, a good set of hooks is necessary. This set of Bamboo Tunisian hooks are incredible and interchangeable – check it out here. Bamboo has a tighter grip on yarn so you won’t drop your stitches and these hooks are lightweight, making them great for crochet.

I think tunisian crochet is a skill everyone should learn. That’s why I’ve put together a list of all the tunisian crochet stitches you should test out.  With a good set of hooks and all these tutorials, you’ll master the technique in no time.

These are the basic crochet stitches you’ll need to work on tunisian crochet patterns. It’s all easy enough with a bit of determination and patience. See for yourself…

Tunisian Simple Stitch

Working on crochet stitch patterns in tunisian crochet can be daunting. By starting with the tunisian simple stitch (also known as the afghan stitch), you can focus on mastering the crochet basics. It’s called simple for a reason. This article will walk you through your crochet cast on, and forming your stitches into a squishy thick fabric.

Tunisian Knit Stitch

This is called the tunisian knit stitch because the fabric created looks like the knit stockinette stitch. This tutorial even has crochet instructions on how to hold a tunisian hook. Just in case you’ve never done it before. Knowing how to hold your tunisian crochet hook properly will help you succeed in the long run.

Tunisian Purl Stitch

This stitch rounds out the basic crochet stitches you need to learn in tunisian crochet. Similar to knitting this stitch forms little purled bumps on the surface of the fabric. It’s definitely a stitch that blurs the line between crochet vs. knit.

Tunisian Full Stitch

This is also known as the afghan stitch. It’s a slight variation on the tunisian simple stitch. You work between the vertical bars instead of behind them.  A lot of tunisian crochet stitches overlap in techniques. This is one of the many to do so.

Tunisian Woven Stitch

This stitch is actually a combination of two types of crochet stitches on this list. An alternating row of the tunisian knit stitch and the full stitch. I would learn how to tunisian crochet those stitches first before trying this one. Luckily this tutorial has a crochet stitch chart if you’re anxious to get started.

Moss Stitch Cowl Crochet Pattern

If you love trying out new crochet stitches, you’re going to love working up this cowl. Crocheting it is easy and fun because this crochet scarf uses the moss stitch. The crochet moss stitch is textural and forms a squishy fabric, perfect for cozying up.

I love working on crochet scarf patterns during the winter. It’s a great way to pass the time and stay warm. I also give out a lot of scarves as gifts. Once you learn how to crochet a scarf you basically never stop. Just like when you learn the basic crochet stitches, you never stop using them.

This crochet scarf pattern is simple and classic. Just throw it on and go. A cowl neck stays right up against your chin, keeping your neck and face warm. You can even pull the crochet infinity scarf over your head to protect your ears. The moss stitch crochet fabric is extra warm because of its’ density. If you love the moss stitch you can also check out our Moss Stitch Beanie Pattern and this great post of 20 of our favorite moss stitch patterns.
You can even make this pattern using different crochet stitches. The versatility of this crochet cowl pattern is what makes it a favorite. Grab your favorite yarn and a matching hook and give it a try. Your neck will thank you the next time a blizzard rolls through.
