Cast on 51 sts.
Knit 10 rows.
Row 1 (RS): K7, P1, *K1, P1* to last 7 sts, K7
Row 2 (WS): K8, *P1, K1* to last 8 sts, K8
Row 3: Knit across row
Row 4: Knit across row
Row 5: K8, *P1, K1* to last 8 sts, K8
