Easy Wear Crochet Cardigan Pattern

If you haven’t made a garment before, it’s best to start with an easy pattern. The easy wear cardigan is simple to make and has a classic silhouette.

Cardigans can seem intimidating, but if you find an easy pattern, you can crochet one in no time. This cardigan sweater has a boxy shape with ribbed banding around the bottom and neckline. And as far as cardigans for women go, this one is relatively simple.

While the silhouette is classic, this crochet cardigan pattern uses a unique stitch. The crumpled griddle stitch is thick and textural. It really adds a special detail to this crochet sweater.

This particular crochet cardigan calls for 8 skeins of Babe Soft Cotton Chunky Solids yarn in moonlight. It’s a chunky cotton acrylic blend. It can be thrown in the washer and dryer as long as you use the gentle cycle. It’s durable and really soft, perfect for this beginner friendly cardigan pattern.

You can get all of this yarn and a digital copy of the pattern in the crochet kit on makerdrop. Crochet sweater patterns don’t have to be challenging. They can be accessible and fun to make, just like this one.
