Simple Shells Light Wrap Crochet Pattern

Hi all. I wanted to share a recent creation I made.

Sometimes you find the pattern and get a yarn to match. But this time around it was the yarn that inspired my Simple Shells Light Crochet Wrap. Let me fill you in on where I acquired this magical yarn.

I recently received a ton of yarn as a gift. There were various fiber contents and colors, each kind different from the last. Immediately there was one that stood out to me.

It was a beautiful metallic silver yarn. Right off the bat, I had a vision for this particular yarn.

It’s the Ava yarn from Classic Elite Yarns. It’s a blend of viscose, wool, and polyester, and it is perfect for the Simple Shells Light Wrap.

This wrap is really delicate and simple to make. It uses the shell stitch which, paired with the subtle metallic yarn, adds a beautiful textural wave to the wrap.

It’s a lightweight wrap to take on vacations with you or for mild weather. It can also be worn in a variety of ways, so it would be a beautiful holiday gift.

Throw it over your shoulders for an elegant drape or wrap it into a chunky scarf for a cold walk outdoors.

I had been wanting to make a shawl for quite a while but I was having trouble finding inspiration. This Ava yarn is creative and such good quality too. The subtle metallic makes for really interesting projects, and it was a lot of fun to work with.

Make your own shell stitch crochet wrap. It’s perfect for all seasons, fall and summer alike. You can pair it with an elegant evening dress for a show at the theater. Or take it on a nice stroll down the beach.

Whatever your reasons for making this, you’ll enjoy learning a new stitch and creating something so beautiful. Check out the crochet pattern below and see for yourself how easy it is to make.
