Like with many hats, after you make the ribbing, you crochet in the round. Row by row. It’s made in two colors and has a big faux fur pom pom on top.
Beanie hats make excellent gifts, so if you know someone with a birthday coming up, you’re set.
It’s really relaxing and a nice way to unwind at the end of the day. And when the year gets busier, it’s always nice to have fun easy crochet projects on hand like this one.

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Fold hat in half lengthwise so that sides of rows meet. Using yarn that matches the row colors for each section, sew side edges together. The seam is now the wrong side of the hat. Turn hat right-side-out so that seam is on the inside. Sew the long tail through each ch-1 sp on row 27. Pull tightly to cinch the top of the hat closed.
Sew on pom pom. Weave in all ends.
